Our oral surgeons can replace one or more teeth with dental implants. Dental implants are often the best option for replacing teeth, whether one or more teeth need replacing. In this blog post, we’ll look at what dental implant professionals can do when only one tooth needs replacing.
Replacing One Tooth with a Dental Implant
Dental implants are the best option for restoring a missing tooth. Dental implants are the most long-lasting option available. They are natural looking and feeling. For the replacement of a single tooth, the protocol varies by whether the patient chooses traditional dental implants or Same Day Teeth®.
The patient will first visit one of our Tampa Bay locations in Palm Harbor, Trinity, or Spring Hill, Florida. The patient will have a consultation and will have imaging of his or her mouth and an assessment will be made of whether he or she is a candidate for dental implants. If the patient is not and there are ways our oral surgeons can improve candidacy for dental implants, that will be discussed with the patient. The oral surgeon will assess the patient’s health, dental, and medical history, and will discuss treatment options.
If the patient is a candidate for dental implants or after undergoing treatment to improve candidacy for dental implants, the patient will return for placement of the dental implant. If the patient chooses the Same Day Teeth® protocol for their dental implants, they will get a custom sculpted, color-matched prosthetic crafted by our prosthodontist. Same Day Teeth patients return home that day with a new smile. If the patient chooses traditional dental implants, they will make a return visit for their custom-made crown or replacement tooth.
